This policy explains how Shybani handles personal information when you visit www.shybani.com, place an order, use an account, subscribe to updates or contact us. Personal information means information that identifies you or can reasonably be linked to you.

1. Who is responsible

Shybani is responsible for the personal information it uses to operate this store. Our business identity is shown in the Legal notice.

For privacy questions or requests, email info@shybani.nl, call +31 6 29560428, or write to De Regtstraat 7, 2157 PK Abbenes, Netherlands.

2. Information we receive

  • Contact and delivery details: your name, email address, telephone number, billing address and delivery address.
  • Orders and payments: the items you select or buy, transaction amounts, payment status, and information about cancellations, returns and refunds. Payment providers process the payment details needed for your chosen payment method.
  • Account information: details used to identify your account, your saved preferences and your order history, where you use these features.
  • Communications: messages, requests and any information you choose to send to customer service.
  • Device and browsing information: IP address, browser and device information, cookie identifiers, pages viewed and interactions with the store, subject to the cookie choices and legal rules that apply.

We receive information directly from you, through the website and its technologies, and from providers involved in your transaction, such as Shopify, payment services and delivery services. Please avoid sending sensitive information that is unnecessary for your request.

3. Why we use it and our legal grounds

  • To fulfil a purchase: taking payment, supplying goods, providing order updates and handling returns. This is necessary to perform our contract with you or take steps you request before a purchase.
  • To provide support and account services: answering questions, identifying orders and maintaining the features you request. We rely on our contract or our legitimate interest in providing effective customer service, depending on the request.
  • To meet legal obligations: keeping required tax and accounting records, handling statutory rights and responding to lawful requests.
  • To protect and improve the store: preventing fraud, maintaining security, resolving disputes and understanding service problems. We rely on legitimate interests where these are not overridden by your rights, and on consent where required for the technologies used.
  • To send marketing and personalise advertising: using your consent where required. You can unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time. Order and service messages may still be sent when needed.

Information needed to process an order must be provided for us to complete that purchase. Optional marketing choices are separate from your order.

4. Cookies and your choices

The store uses cookies and similar technologies for essential functions such as the basket, checkout, account access, security and remembering preferences. Optional analytics, personalisation or advertising technologies are used according to your choices and applicable law.

Use the cookie banner and any privacy controls available on the website to make or change your choices. Your browser also lets you remove or block cookies, although blocking necessary cookies may prevent some store functions from working. Unsubscribing from email marketing does not automatically change browser cookie preferences.

5. Sharing information

We share information needed to operate the store with Shopify and service providers involved in hosting, payments, delivery, customer support, communications, analytics and other store functions. Marketing partners receive information only where there is an applicable legal basis and any required consent. Providers receive information relevant to their role.

We may also share information with professional advisers, public authorities where legally required, and parties involved in a lawful business transfer, subject to appropriate protections. When you choose to use a separate service or follow an external link, that provider's privacy information also applies.

6. Shopify's role

Our store is hosted by Shopify. Shopify processes information to provide and improve the shopping services. Some Shopify features may use information from your interactions with this store together with information from other merchants and Shopify services, including for personalised services and advertising, subject to applicable privacy choices.

For processing for its own purposes, Shopify is responsible for handling the associated privacy rights. Read the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy and visit Shopify's Privacy Portal for further information and available controls. You can also contact us about processing carried out by Shybani.

7. International transfers and security

Shopify and other providers may process information outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom. Where required, transfers rely on recognised safeguards, such as an adequacy decision or approved contractual clauses. Contact us for information about relevant safeguards.

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information. No system is completely secure, so please keep account access details private and contact us if you suspect misuse.

8. How long information is kept

Retention depends on why the information is needed. Order and financial records are kept for applicable tax and accounting periods. Account and support information is retained while needed to provide the service, resolve issues and meet legal requirements. Marketing information is used until you withdraw consent or unsubscribe, subject to any minimal records needed to respect that choice. Information may be retained longer where necessary for a legal obligation or a legal claim.

9. Your rights

Depending on the applicable law, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing or a portable copy of your information. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests and to direct marketing. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.

Contact info@shybani.nl to make a request. We may need proportionate information to confirm your identity. Requests are normally answered within one month; if the law allows an extension, we will explain why. Some information may need to be retained despite a deletion request, for example to meet a legal obligation.

10. Children and complaints

The store is not directed at children. If you believe a child has provided personal information that should not have been collected, please contact us.

If you are concerned about how we handle information, you can contact us and you may complain directly to your local data protection authority. In the Netherlands this is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens; in the UK it is the Information Commissioner's Office.

11. Updates

We may revise this policy when our services, practices or legal requirements change. The date above identifies the current version. Where a change requires notice or renewed consent, we will take the steps required by law.
